Lots Going On

Everything has started to come together very quickly for the 2011 season.

I will be sailing the new boat Soitec 617 and will represent the Soitec company. It is a much faster boat than night fever, with canting keel, asymmetric daggerboards and adjustable fore stay for rig tensioning whilst sailing. The hull shape is much more modern with powerful lines and a soft chine. It is full constructed of nomex and carbon with much of the structure made from prepreg, so she is very light.

Now I need to get training with all this new kit and get in lots of hours on the water to garantee some good results for the 2011 season.

I have been to Paris boat show for the Mini AGM, it was very interesting and good to see the class members again. I managed to get all mini work done on the Saturday which left Sunday free for some tourist time in Paris.

Recently I have been in contact with Cowes Magazine, that wrote an article about me in 2010. They asked me to be a columnist and my first column is online now and can be read at www.cowesonline.com.
